   CIC’S STORY

Medical social work is unfamiliar to most; it also happens to be the profession to which the team at CIC has dedicated their careers.

Over the decades of working with those facing chronic and serious illness, our team identified a critical gap in patient care. The gap; connecting patients to qualified outpatient therapists with clinical expertise and, most importantly, the experience of working directly with patients and families in hospitals and outpatient clinics.

Working with patients and families throughout hospitalizations and in outpatient clinics allows a social work clinician to gain unique insights and understanding into the spectrum of illnesses, how illnesses are treated, and how illnesses impact every part of a person's life. Through this experience, social work clinicians also gain in-depth, first-hand knowledge of the medical procedures patients undergo, the treatments patients receive, and the side effects these treatments and procedures have.

CIC was created to close the gap and help meet the need for outpatient therapy services dedicated to supporting those impacted by chronic and serious illnesses.

CIC joins together a group of licensed clinical social workers who possess clinical expertise in working with those impacted by chronic and serious illnesses. In addition to clinical expertise, the CIC team brings decades of direct experience in working with patients and families in hospitals and outpatient medical settings.

Here at CIC, we also share the experience of caring for our family members and loved ones living with chronic and serious illnesses.

Professionally, clinically, personally, we get it.

We are CIC. We are help and healing rooted in compassion.
